Obituary of Edward Sidney Bavistock 1941

Mr. Edward Sidney Bavistock, chief inspector of the Savings Bank of South Australia, died in a private hospital on Saturday afternoon after a long illness. He had been on leave from the bank since May 31.

He was born at Kapunda in Julv. 1880. his father being a postmaster who later was stationed for many years at Port Adelaide. He entered the service of the Savings Bank in March, 1896. He became branch manager at Peterborough in 1908 and in 1909 took charge of the bank's Kapunda office later, serving as branch manager at Kadina, Mount Gambier, and Port Pirie, where he remained until his appointment as inspector of branches and agencies in 1924.

He leaves a widow, formerly Miss L. A. Bishop, of Port Adelaide, and four sons, John and Glen, now serving with the Militia Forces, Tom, a member of the Darwin Defence Force, and Bruce, who recently enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy.
